             At one time the Pintail was the most abundant duck in North America, but the Pintails population has declined since the 1950’s due to persistent drought and the loss of Grasslands.  Nicknamed “The Greyhound of the Air”, because of their elongated central tail feathers, (which constitute for one quarter of the drakes body length), describes the unique features of this waterfowl.  But don’t go buying any round trip bus passes for this dandy as it only weighs on average of 2lbs, and its population spreads all throughout North America.   

            This dabbler’s graceful wingspread can be seen in our beautiful hand crafted depiction of the flying pintails take-off.  “The Flying Pintail Lamp” at 31” tall is a great addition to any lake cabin, home, or office as it adds light with touch of the outdoors.  The delicate tail on this sculpture is removable and easily replaceable at no addition cost.
